FANS have slammed the voting behind the PFA Team of the Season after an England star was left out.

Instead, the Chelsea midfielder had to settle for the PFA Young Player of the Year award at Tuesday’s ceremony in Manchester.

Palmer was not named in the top flight’s Team of the Season voted for by his fellow players.

His absence came after a stellar debut season at Stamford Bridge following his arrival from Manchester City.

The 22-year-old scored 22 goals and provided 11 assists in 33 league appearances for the Blues.

As a result, his snub left fans stunned on social media, with one writing: “No Palmer. This is nonsense.”

Another asked: “How is Palmer not in this?”

A third supporter also commented: “Where is Palmer?”

Meanwhile, one more added: “Cole Palmer robbed.”

A three-man midfield of Rodri, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard was included instead behind forwards Erling Haaland, Phil Foden and Ollie Watkins.

Foden also claimed the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award, which Palmer had been shortlisted for.

However, the England international did take home the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
