Fans set for Festive feast of sport with Liverpool vs Arsenal and Anthony Joshua giving supporters Christmas cheer

SPORTS fans are in for a bumper festive season with Anthony Joshua in action just over 24 hours before Christmas Day.

The British heavyweight is set to take on Otto Wallin in Saudi Arabia on December 23.

He is set to feature on the same card as Deontay Wilder – who looks set to take on Joseph Parker.

And there will be more boxing for fans to enjoy as they tuck into their leftover turkey as Japanese fighter Naoya Inoue takes on Marlon Tapales on Boxing Day.

There are plenty of big festive fixtures for football fans to sink their teeth into including Manchester United vs Liverpool on December 15.

The Reds take on Arsenal eight days later in Saturday’s evening kick-off, with United visiting West Ham earlier in the afternoon.

There is also a Christmas Eve clash for the first time in nearly 30 years as Wolves host Chelsea.

Boxing Day sees United and Liverpool in action again – with both games against Aston Villa and Burnley set to be televised, along with Newcastle vs Nottingham Forest.

From December 21 to January 2, only two days will be football free – one of which is Christmas Day.

A busy New Year’s weekend includes TV games for Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal, with Newcastle’s trip to Liverpool on New Year’s Day the pick of the fixtures.

If fans have enough of the football they can tune into the World Darts Championships, which kicks off on December 15.

World number one Michael Smith will be aiming to defend his crown amid competition from Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright.

The tournament, which takes place at Alexandra Palace, drew in 1.5 million viewers last year and concludes on January 3.

Elsewhere there is plenty of NFL action with ten games pencilled in for Christmas Eve and four for Christmas Day as reigning Superbowl champions Kansas City Chiefs face the Las Vegas Raiders.
