NEYMAR has been slammed by fans after he was spotted doing something “very inappropriate” on his phone during his daughter’s birthday.

The Brazilian ace had been celebrating his baby girl Mavie’s half birthday alongside his former partner Bruna Biancardi in a heart-warming video posted on social media.

The former couple could be seen putting their differences behind them to sing happy birthday to their daughter.

But sharp-eyed fans noticed that instead of devoting all his attention to Mavie, Neymar, 32, could not take his eyes off his phone.

On closer inspection, it appeared the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star had been playing on an online poker app.

And as family and friends clapped and cheered Mavie, her dad took his hand away from her to tap his phone, apparently making a bet.

Social media users were left in disbelief and what they had just witness, with many infuriated by the star’s behaviour.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), one person said: “This guy is absolutely finished. Man is playing poker in the middle of his daughter’s birthday.”

Another commented: “Neymar finishing up his little poker game in the middle of his daughter’s birthday hahaha.”

A third criticised: “Damn, man. Look at Neymar. This is unacceptable.”

Neymar, who now plays for Saudi side Al Hilal is one of the wealthiest players in the world after signing for around £76million last summer.

His wages alone are said to be worth more than £2.5million a week, six times what he earned at PSG.

However, the Brazilian international has made just five appearances in all competitions since arriving in August 2023.

Neymar ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament while on international duty in October, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.

Despite his lack of action on the field, he has continued to rake in the money as part of his two-year deal in the Middle East.

And it appears that Neymar is making use of his free time by lumping some of it on online poker.

The Brazilian has previously been snapped in casino’s placing a number of chips on the board.

In fact, Neymar has already set his sights on becoming a professional poker play once he retires and made his World Series of Poker debut in Las Vegas in 2022.

After taking up a role as cultural ambassador for PokerStars in 2020, he said: “It’s true I plan to turn pro. I feel very comfortable playing poker, and think I can play in major tournaments after my football career is over.

“I began playing during the 2014 World Cup, and I have fallen in love with the game.

“I play poker in an aggressive fashion. My favourite hands are a pair of tens – after my shirt number – and Jack-Five.”
