And he’s even ready to build a room for them in his new house… despite his wife’s disapproval.
David Wheater admits he spends all his money on WWE figurines[/caption]Wheater, 36, starred in the top flight for Middlesbrough and Bolton.
He also dipped into League Two with Oldham for several seasons.
And he retired from the beautiful game in September after a spell with National League North side Darlington.
But Wheater, an 11-time England U21 star, has another passion to keep him occupied.
The ex-defender has revealed he has a huge love for wrestling.
Starting in his childhood, Wheater became addicted to watching WWE stars like Hulk Hogan.
And the candle still burns bright as Wheater continues to buy wrestling figurines to keep in his house.
His wife is at her wit’s end trying to keep all the merchandise organised in a temporary rental.

But Wheater has vowed to build a separate room for his toys when work on a new gaff is complete.
Wheater, who earned one senior England call-up in 2008 but was never capped, told the Under The Cosh podcast: “We never had Sky.
“My dad worked offshore and had Sky and he brought WrestleMania 10 back from ’94 and I was hooked ever since.
“Bret Hart and that. I think [Ultimate Warrior] had left by then, but I’d get tapes of Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan. I just started buying tapes, loved it, still love it now.
“We’re just renting a little place now as we’re building our house and (my wife is) like, ‘where are you putting these (toys)?’
“I said, ‘I’ll build a room for them’. (She said) ‘You’re not.’
“(I have a ring) but I don’t like them because when you wrestle with them they slip out. The ring is slippy so I just do it on the carpet. I do all the moves.
“I never got into gambling, but I spend all my money on wrestling figures. I don’t know what she’d rather me do to be honest: win a bit or spend it all on wrestlers.
“I get the little feet and do [Austin’s finishing move] the Stunner with them. She’s filmed me a few times, whipped the camera round and I’m sat on the floor in my pants or whatever, just wrestling, with my figures.
“It’s relaxing. This is not a lie either, this is all true.”
