FORMER Arsenal player Rhys Weston now earns his bucks for another Premier League team – but he has had a big career change.

Weston made one league appearance for the Gunners against Newcastle in the final game of the 1999/2000 season.

The defender played two other games for Arsenal with his debut coming a few months earlier, against Middlesbrough in the League Cup.

Ashley Cole made his debut in the same match, while Weston also played against Ipswich in the third round of the League Cup in November 2000 – his only appearance at Highbury.

Weston left north London the same month, joining Cardiff for £300,000.

He made 215 appearances for the Bluebirds and won seven caps for Wales during his spell at Cardiff.

Weston also had stints at Viking, Port Vale, Walsall, Dundee and AFC Wimbledon before retiring in 2014.

A few years later Weston was back in the game but in a much different capacity.

He joined the Venue Optimisation team at Brentford and is now Head of Team Operations at the Prem club.

Weston is responsible for increasing commercial revenue at the Bees, having previously worked as Head of Venue Sales.
