Le Havre confirmed the signing of Ayew before their goalless draw at home to Monaco on Saturday.

Ayew was presented to supporters inside the stadium prior to the match as he held his new shirt and waved to fans.

It is understood he had been keen to stay in Europe’s top five league following his exit from the City Ground.

The 33-year-old previously had spells in Turkey and Qatar during his eight-year absence from French football.

After starting his career with Marseille, he won two French League Cups with the club before moving to Swansea in 2015.

Ayew moved to West Ham a year later before returning to England on a short-term basis with Forest back in February.

Overall, he has scored 21 goals in 102 Premier League appearances for the three clubs.

The forward has also featured for Fenerbahce and Al-Sadd in recent years but is now back in Ligue 1 with Le Havre, penning a deal until the end of the season.
