FORGOTTEN Tottenham star Ivan Perisic is reportedly on the verge of returning to his boyhood club Hajduk Split.
The Croatian midfielder, who moved to Spurs as a free agent in July 2022 after his contract at Inter Milan expired, has not played since September.
Ivan Perisic looks set to be the next player heading out of Spurs this month[/caption]Now he looks set to become the seventh ace to leave the North London side this month as Ange Postecoglou continues his transfer clearout.
Perisic, 34, has made five appearances under Postecoglou but his last outing was as a substitute against Sheffield United on September 16.
The ex-Dortmund and Bayern Munich veteran then suffered a crushing blow when he damaged his ACL just days later, forcing him to undergo surgery.
That was expected to rule him out for the entire campaign but now it seems that he could be nearing a comeback – albeit for a different team.
That is according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Perisic is closing in on an emotional move to his hometown club.
He tweeted: “Ivan Perisic comeback to Hajduk Split is advancing well, now at the final stages!
“Perisic is keen on returning to make history at the club.
“Understand Tottenham are prepared to accept loan move until the end of the summer.”

Perisic spent around 11 years in Hajduk Split’s youth academy before his transfer to French side Sochaux in 2006.
The 129-capped Croatian international will be out of contract at Spurs in June.
And they are seemingly prepared to let him go early on loan to help reduce the wage bill as he prepares for a return to his homeland, where he has never played a senior club game.
However, it still remains to be seen whether Perisic is offered a permanent package by Hajduk.
It has been reported that all depends on whether he can get himself fit and back in match action before the close of the season.
