He arrived from the French side after starring on loan in La Liga for Girona last season.
Following a cameo off the bench in the Community Shield, he started Sunday’s opening weekend win over Chelsea.
City later shared a highlight reel from Savinho’s performance to X, showing off his dribbling ability and range of passing.
The post was captioned: “Our new Brazilian settling in.”
Mahrez appeared to be left seeing double, though, as commented: “Wait a minute,” along with an inspecting and crying laughing emoji.
Several fans had previously compared Savinho to the Algerian international following his league debut.
Supporters even dubbed him a “Riyad Mahrez regen” on social media.

As well as their similar dribbling style, the 20-year-old has also inherited Mahrez’s old number 26 shirt.
The squad number had been left vacant last season following Mahrez’s move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli.
His exit came after 236 appearances in five years at the Etihad Stadium, during which time he scored 78 goals for the club.
Mahrez also won 12 major trophies, including the treble in his final season in England.
Savinho played the first half at Stamford Bridge before being replaced by Phil Foden due to a knee injury.
Despite the setback, City went on to win 2-0 thanks to goals from Erling Haaland and Mateo Kovacic.
And it was a good night for City on Tuesday as Phil Foden scooped the PFA Player of the Year award, while a number of their stars featured in the Team of the Year.
