Foster, 40, spent seven seasons at West Brom, where the team made the most of a Birmingham Airport secret.

He said to his Fozcast show: “How it would work when we flew to away games is, you would go to Birmingham Airport but there is a side part where the cargo planes land

“It’s like a private terminal, basically.

“We would all arrive in our cars, park up literally on the airstrip, go into the private terminal.

“You show them your passport and you would walk on to the plane 20 minutes later.”

When landing at their destination, the team bus would already be there to pick them up.

Foster said: “He would be on the tarmac waiting for us – it was fantastic.”

The squad would then normally either head to a team hotel or straight to the stadium.
