Former world No1 cyclist strips naked to reveal horror injuries in shocking crash that left rival needing oxygen

FORMER world number one cyclist Primoz Roglic stripped off to show his shocking injuries after suffering a horror crash.

Roglic, who was a time trial away from winning the 2020 Tour de France, endured a difficult race in the Basque Country last week.

The Slovenian was twice knocked off his bike in stage three and stage four of the Itzulia Basque Country road cycling stage race.

The crash in stage four saw a number of high-profile riders hit the tarmac, including Tour de France champion Jonas Vingegaard who was given oxygen after suffering a collapsed lung.

He abandoned the race but Roglic was able to continue for another day – only to suffer another crash.

The accidents left the 34-year-old worse for wear and he took to Instagram to show the extent of his injuries.

Roglic’s naked body was covered with bandages and plasters from head to toe, with the former world number one leaving plenty of skin on the road.

He shared a shocking photo on Instagram alongside the caption: “Memories of stage 3 and 4 of Itzulia… feeling a bit better!

“Wishing everyone a speedy recovery. See you on the road!”

It has been an eventful week in cycling with world champion Mathieu van der Poel winning on the famous cobbles in Paris-Roubaix.

But the Dutchman’s race almost ended in disaster as a fan threw their hat at his bike wheels.

Fortunately, the missile did not impact Van der Poel as he drove on and clinched another breathtaking triumph by three minutes from team-mate Jasper Philipsen.
