It’s the first time MVG has been on receiving end of five defeats in a row for over 12 years.
However he still put in a good display during the match averaging an impressive 110.94, and perhaps that was why he showed frustration when being interviewed live on TV by broadcaster Viaplay.
Following his defeat he was asked about losing five times on the bounce and gave a frosty reply to the interviewer.
He said: “If you want to make it negative, you have to do it nicely. That this has never happened before?
“Then you never looked at me, of course that has happened before.”
The Green Machine then dropped one last line before disappearing off-screen and leaving the interview.
He said: “So if you want to make it negative… figure it out, bye.”

Van Gerwen is still positioned well in the Premier League table despite his defeat to Littler.
He sits second in the standings thanks to his three consecutive night wins at the start of the season in Berlin, Glasgow and Newcastle.
For now he will have to shake off the frustration of a defeat to the in-form Littler and focus on his next clash.
Van Gerwen takes on Gerwyn Price in his quarter-final match-up next Thursday as the Premier League heads to Dublin.
