MATTHEW SELT faces possible disciplinary action for yelling at a TEENAGER and the referee in a stunning outburst.

The Brit, 39, had been doing battle with Latvian 18-year-old Artemijs Zizin in their German Masters qualifier in Sheffield on Tuesday night.

Romford cueist Selt shouted “OH MY GOD!” when Zizins fluked a match-ball red in the final frame of their best of nine clash.

Zizins tried to pot the ball in the top right pocket, only for it to ricochet in the jaws.

To Selt’s horror, however, the ball then trickled across the top cushion and dropped into the opposite corner.

Seeing the scene unfold, Selt bellowed “Oh my God!”

He then appeared to shake his head in disgust.

As Zizins then went to clear up the colours, having secured a 5-4 win, disrespectful Selt, 39, got up from his chair, shook hands and packed up his cue case.

A bemused Zizins awkwardly told Selt “Have a good Christmas”, to with his raging rival laughed and replied: “And you.”

But Selt was seen walking off camera before multiple loud bangs and crashes could be heard backstage at the behind-closed-doors event.

World No.33 Selt – who had made a 143 break in frame one – was appointed last December on to the WPBSA Players Board but is no longer in that role.

The Essex star has made four appearances at the Crucible World Championship and the pinnacle of his career was lifting the Indian Open in 2019.

The matter could now be referred by the World Snooker Tour to the WPBSA to start a disciplinary investigation.

The World Snooker Tour declined to comment when approached by SunSport.
