MANCHESTER CITY support staff have each received a £10,000 bonus from Pep Guardiola, according to reports.

Guardiola, 53, made the generous gift to all members of staff who work in the first-team building at the club’s training base, the City Football Academy.

There are said to be around 60 to 70 people who work in the building, including chefs, physios, baristas, security staff and kit managers.

According to The Times, Guardiola has tried to foster a togetherness in the workplace and a connection between staff and players during his eight years in charge at the Etihad.

Last season, Guardiola praised the camaraderie behind the scenes at City.

He told reporters: “More or less these years we have been perfectly together, players, club, staff, backroom staff.

“The mood is really good and has been for many years.”

He is said to believe this is a big part of the reason the club have been so successful.

City landed an unprecedented fourth Premier League title in a row – and sixth in seven years – last season.

The ex-Barcelona manager’s tenure has also landed them two FA Cups, four EFL Cups, the Champions League and the Club World Cup.
