His shot looked to be good but swung out of the hole.

And he wasn’t too happy about it, shouting “F***!” as he saw his shot missed.

The incident was picked up on a hot mic, presumably there to pick up any crowd reaction to his putt.

And fans were quick to sympathise with Rahm, with many saying they had been there before.

One fan said: “I can oh so relate..”

While another wrote: “That was me, yesterday, three putting after being on a Par 3 in one. We’ve all been there Rahmbo.”

A third fan added: “I hear that a lot on the golf course!!!!”

While a fourth wrote: “Been there done that.”

A fifth wondered why commentators were so moved to apologise for the language, saying: “Why do we apologise for F-bombs in 2023!? Every golfer on earth can relate to this. This is normal behaviour.”

It’s been a frustrating few days for the Masters champion, with the Spaniard already having lashed out at photographers during the first round.

Rahm said there were too many members of the media following his marquee alongside Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose.

He lashed out and said: “I’m trying to walk and there’s way too many people in my way and I can’t go at my pace because they are in my way.

“Then I’m walking off 18 trying to deal with that unlucky moment… there’s somebody with a boom mic on my ass keeping up with Rory’s pace… that’s kind of the disregard that I existed.”

Rahm’s temperment is infamously short, with the Spaniard also having a run-in with photographers at the PGA Championship in May.

American Brian Harman currently leads the Open with a five shot lead, with home favourite Tommy Fleetwood trailing by five shots.
