The tournament sees 32 players split into eight groups as the top two from each go into the knockout rounds.

Luke Humphries, Michael Smith, Michael van Gerwen, Rob Cross and Stephen Bunting are the big hitters in pot one.

Meanwhile, Luke Littler and Peter Wright are in pot two.

But Gerwyn Price failed to make the cut after a shock 5-3 loss to Mickey Mansell in qualifying.

Mansell also defeated legend Raymond van Barneveld en route to booking his spot.

Price is a three-time winner of the Grand Slam of Darts.

The Iceman has recently struggled with injuries, losing two matches since pulling out the Czech Darts Open in October due to a nerve issue.

World No7 Nathan Aspinall will also not be competing for the Eric Bristow trophy after being beaten 5-3 in qualifying by Cameron Menzies.

Other notable stars missing out are Jonny Clayton, Andrew Gilding, Ryan Searle, Damon Heta, Chris Dobey, Joe Cullen and Gabriel Clemens.

Fans are disappointed to see some of their favourites not make the draw, with one saying: “It’s going to be the worst one for years ain’t it.”

Another added: “This is gonna be such a strange tournament.”

The winner of the Grand Slam of Darts will take home £150,000.
