HARRY KANE left Jamie Carragher red-faced after refusing “to lie on national TV” over their friendship.
Honest ‘Arry went from skippering England to kippering the pundit in an amusing interview live on CBS Sports.
First Kane sunk Lazio as his two goals helped Bayern Munich into the Champions League quarter-finals with a 3-0 second leg win.
Then he also shot down Carragher – after the Liverpool legend was put on the spot over his relationship with the ex-Tottenham striker.
CBS presenter Kate Abdo opened up by asking Kane: “Jamie said earlier this week that he called you and spoke to you. Is that true or false?”
The grinning goal-getter replied: “Err, that is false.”
Cue howls of laughter from Carragher’s studio colleagues Thierry Henry and Micah Richards.
A smiling Carra burst out: “H! Don’t do this to me!
“I’m telling everyone in America that we are friends, that we’ve got a great relationship. I can’t believe you’ve just done that to me!”
Kane tried to soften the blow by adding: “We are friends – but I’m not going to lie on national TV.”
But poor Carragher had to squirm again when Abdo asked Bayern’s summer signing if the ex-England defender even had his phone number.
“Err, we exchange messages on Twitter – we’re Twitter friends,” came the response.
And when Carragher, 46, referred to an online exchange they had a year ago, Kane added: “I appreciate it.”
The 30-year-old was in high spirits after reviving his German side’s spluttering season.
Kane’s 38th-minute header broke Lazio‘s resistance to level the last-16 tie on aggregate.
And after Thomas Muller nodded Bayern 2-0 up, he struck from close range.
It boosts their hopes of avoiding their first season since since 2011-12 without winning a trophy.
But the Bundesliga champions are 10 points adrift of domestic leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
And manager Thomas Tuchel has announced he will depart in the summer.
