Crouch, 42, finished his career with 40 headed goals in the Premier League.

This record is still yet to be beaten however Kane did match it before his summer transfer to Germany.

Kane’s ideal striker also saw attributes go to some of the best players over the last 20 years.

The England captain picked Edinson Cavani for his movement, Didier Drogba for his strength, Kylian Mbappe for his dribbling and Wayne Rooney for his link-up play.

Kane, 30, also picked Jude Bellingham for his work-rate and Cristiano Ronaldo for his speed.

However, there was no spot left for any of Lionel Messi‘s attributes.

But it was the selection of Crouch that got fans talking on social media.

One fan moaned: “Crouch wasn’t that good a header of the ball, he was surprisingly good with his feet though.”

A second posted: “Crouch over Shearer for heading?!”

A third wrote: “Wasn’t Crouch terrible at heading?”

However, others did argue in favour of Kane’s claim.

One said: “He is (or at least, was) the record holder for most headed goals in the PL, so maybe that’s coming into Kane’s thinking.”

A second added: “Crouch does have the most headed goals in the Premier League.”
