Harry Redknapp is eyeing up the Cheltenham Festival after his big win at Newbury

BEN JONES was man of the match at Newbury as he booted home Harry Redknapp’s Bowtogreatness.

Favourite columnist Ben Pauling has recently named Jones his new No1 jockey and he showed why with a cracking front-running ride on the 6-1 shot.

He jumped for fun up the long Newbury straight to fend off hot favourite Destroytheevidence over the last and up the run in.

Pauling said: “That was great to watch especially as it has been so long between drinks.

“He really deserved it, though.

“We’ve campaigned him in all the big handicaps but we’ll treat him as a nice novice this year with some graded races in mind for him come the spring.

“He could be back out pretty quickly so long as he comes out of this okay.”

Harry was at the track to watch his star win for the first time in over two years.

Pauling added: “We love having Harry as an owner.

“He doesn’t have the chance to get to the yard much but he’ll often come racing when his horses are running and that’s what it’s all about.

Harry smiled: “Last night I was like a kid before Christmas, I just love it and I love coming to Newbury.

“Ben gave him a superb ride. He kept a bit up his sleeve and it counted late on. I love having a winner, that was great.”

“He was foot perfect and he’s a beautiful horse. Hopefully we can have some fun with him and get back to the festival.”

Harry’s Cheltenham Festival winner Shakemup’arry could run back at Prestbury Park next weekend.

He’s 20-1 for the Paddy Power Gold Cup but will need the rain to arrive.

Redknapp added: “I’m not sure when we’ll see him. He could go to Cheltenham but he really needs it soft.

“Ben has been really pleased with The Jukebox Man. He could run at Cheltenham but needs rain too.”
