OISIN MURPHY bravely addressed his health issues in front of camera – as a former champion jockey claimed he’s ‘lost everyone’s trust’.

Three-time champion jockey Murphy was back riding at Lingfield on Tuesday after missing his rides at Kempton while ‘under observation’ in hospital.

Murphy, 28, later said haemorrhoids were to blame for his no-show, which happened to be on the same day he was to be randomly selected to give a breath sample.

The jockey did a breathalyser at Lingfield with no problems and spoke candidly to Matt Chapman on At The Races about his health concerns.

After the footage aired and the coverage went back to the studio, former champion Flat jockey Seb Sanders commended Murphy’s bravery in front of camera.

But he said Murphy’s past misdemeanours, which included being banned for 14 months for failed breathalyser tests, meant he had ‘lost everyone’s trust’.

Sanders said: “Fair play but from previous issues you lose trust, and as soon as you lose that things go awry and people start gossiping.

“Unfortunately, that’s of Oisin’s own doing.

“People are human and they will ask the question.

“Hopefully he will prove himself right but unfortunately he lost everyone’s trust with what happened before.”

Murphy was interviewed by the BHA about his Kempton no-show and the matter was forwarded to the authority’s head office.

Opening up more on the issues he has faced, Murphy said: “I have been bleeding at night and just getting on with it.

“When I left for Kempton I noticed my boxers were wet and that I’d been bleeding when sat in the car.

“I went to hospital, and obviously there was stuff wirtten on social and I addressed that with my post, that I have haemorrhoids and it’s something I am dealing with.

“The BHA have asked questions and might continue to do so whenever they feel fit to establish all the enquiries they have, and then we’ll be moving on.

“But it’s not very nice to have to come out with such a private matter… but it is what it is.

“I’m tested randomly but pretty regularly – so are all the other jockeys.”

Asked if he was expecting anything bad to come of all this, Murphy replied simply: “No.”

Murphy drew a blank from four rides at Lingfield, his best finish a second on Wisper in a 1m1f fillies’ handicap.
