ONE football commentator had fans in floods of tears after he appeared to leave his auto-tune on during a match.
The commentator for an Argentinian reserve league match left on the setting giving his announcements a hilariously musical effect.
During a Pirmera B Reserva match between Excursionistas and Argentino Melo the commentator’s reaction to the game’s opening goal sounded more like a Top 40 hit than a football broadcast.
The effect, usually used to help singers sound better during recordings, instead left the match announcer sounding hilarious as he shouted: “GOOALLL” when the deadlock was broken.
Fans loved the unusual crossover and took to social media to ask if auto-tune could be used for football commentators all the time.
One said: “Should be the new norm in my opinion.”
While another added: “Can this be a commentary option on Sky please?”
A third commented: “Petition to make auto-tune mandatory for football commentators.”
And a fourth joked: “Imagine. Peter Drury, with his amazing vocabulary in the middle of a Champions League final with auto-tune like this. Pure gold.”
One other fan suggested that the commentary sounded like American rapper T-Pain who famously uses auto-tune in his music.
