RASMUS HOJLUND has been spoken to by his Manchester United team-mates after being interviewed by a controversial fan channel.

The striker is still in his first season at the club and spoke to The United Stand’s Mark Goldbridge last month.

They discussed how Hojlund has settled into the club and life in Manchester, with the youngster just beginning to find his feet and form in front of goal before he picked up an injury.

But it appears some of his team-mates did not appreciate him speaking to The United Stand, with claims the YouTube channel has criticised players in the past.

According to the United We Stand magazine, Hojlund was spoken to by team-mates about speaking to a channel “built on negativity and slaughtering United players”, which the Dane was not aware of.

Goldbridge shared his thoughts, stating the club had every chance to stop the interview if they wished.

He tweeted: “Jealousy always seems to burn brightest on a Sunday lol! So, that interview took months to put together.

“Everyone in the club was aware, the player and others were doing media on a training day at Carrington, we were there all morning. If anyone wanted to stop it they could of [sic].”

He added in a video: “What this is is an opportune pile-on, it’s to distract. Its a distraction technique! and It’s probably coming from these players.

“And the bottom line is, I don’t understand the world we live in anymore.

“Even if a couple of United players weren’t happy with Rasmus for doing the interview, why do you think they weren’t happy about it? because they have been criticised for not being very good.

“So United fans hear that and decide to side with the players that aren’t good enough, against fans that call them out for not being good enough. Welcome to the world.

“So basically you are going to side with players that aren’t good enough for United to try and cancel a load of other United fans. I don’t get that. It’s not even true.”

Goldbridge has previously come under fire for his criticism of the club and his targeting of players like Harry Maguire.

Former United star Paul Parker criticised him a few months ago and accused him of being a Nottingham Forest fan.

He said: “I don’t like what Mark Goldbridge is doing.

“It’s a problem. Everyone has to make a living but you have to be very, very thick skinned to make money off the back of something you don’t like.

“He has no relationship to Man United, he is a Nottingham Forest fan. It’s an incredible skill to do that, actually… To make money on the back of something you don’t like.

“He is attacking the club, the manager and the owners of a football club that you don’t even love. He has no inner feeling with the club and it’s a scary but incredible feeling to have to be that invested in a club that you don’t support.

“But that’s also what Man United are about. It’s a club with a massive story and it’s a story that everyone tries to tap into and be a part of.

“A lot of people are making money because of Man United but it’s madness. One, they don’t support Man United and to be honest, two, they don’t even like football.

“But it’s a club that everyone wants to talk about and somehow it’s possible to make money from it despite not having a relationship to the club.”
