Horse racing tips: Key to Templegate’s NAP is this eyecatching jockey and trainer combo with 100 per cent record

TEMPLEGATE tackles Wednesday’s action hungry for winners.

HURRICANE HIGHWAY (2.10 Exeter, nap)

Title-chasing Harry Cobden is an eyecatching booking for this Evan Williams runner who should have won at Chepstow last time out. He was tanking along before landing awkwardly at the fourth-last fence. That knocked the stuffing out of him but he boxed on well to be a fair six lengths behind the winner. This race looks no tougher and the three-mile trip will be right up his street. Cobden has only had one previous ride for canny Williams and that was a winner last June. He can keep up that 100 per cent record today.

BREWING (6.30 Kempton, nb)

William Haggas’s five-year-old was a game winner on comeback at Newcastle in November, staying on well over six furlongs to score with plenty of petrol left. He then struggled to get a decent position early on when midfield back at Gosforth Park last time. Haggas wisely moves him up a furlong here and Tom Marquand is back to take the ride. His last visit to Kempton was a win and he has had a little nudge down the weights.

TRANSATLANTIC (1.50 Leicester, treble)

He has been waiting for better ground after twice running well in the mud at Bangor and Wetherby. His rider takes off a valuable 7lb on this drop from handicaps down to claiming level with trainer Olly Murphy in decent form. He can give likely hotpot Baron De Midleton plenty to worry about.

MOYTIER (4.15 Exeter, Lucky 15 bet)

Is worth a close look on this second start following a wind operation. He was going along nicely at Wincanton last time and jumped the fourth-last well on to stumble on landing. He looked likely to go close in that race and this doesn’t look any tougher off the same handicap mark.
