Horse racing tips: Templegate’s 11-2 NAP will fit stripper after his return for an in-form trainer

KANSAS DU BERLAIS (3.05 Lingfield, nap)

Was mainly progressive last season, winning a pair of minor races at Fontwell with consummate ease. His run in a valuable Sandown handicap to end the year was better than the bare result and the same can be said of his return run. He never looked to be travelling but plugged on his first try of the distance under Niall Houlihan, so it is easy to mark that up. Gary Moore’s runners have been improving for their opening gambit this season and I reckon he will do the same off a tempting mark.

DUNNET HEAD (1.50 Ayr, nb)

He showed plenty of ability in two qualifying runs before making a winning handicap debut at Carlisle. He was not missed in the market, smashed into 9-4 favourite, and he readily obliged for the shrewd Iain Jardine outfit. A 4lb rise for that success looks rather lenient, especially as stepping up to two-and-a-half miles should bring about even more improvement from the lightly-raced five-year-old.

AUBIS WALK (2.50 Ayr, treble)

Another likely improver for a yard in red-hot form. Nothing can stop Nicky Richards-trained runners at the moment and his unexposed mare showed plenty of ability over hurdles last season. Granted, she had a few hiccups, but she still looked green as grass on her final start of the campaign and that bodes well for her this season as she tackles the larger obstacles. A handicap mark of 116 could really underestimate her and she is one to keep on side.
