Horse racing tips: Templegate’s NAP has some classy form and should be hard to beat at Lingfield

ROCKSTAR ICON (12.54 Lingfield, nap)

He showed promise earlier in the year, kicking off with a midfield effort at Windsor in May over an inadequate six furlongs. He left that behind upped in trip at Haydock a month later. He travelled strongly and finished well in a strong novice contest.

The third home has since held his own in Group contests and the race has produced other winners too. Obviously it’s not ideal that he’s been off since that promising effort but he takes a major drop in class here and the booking of David Probert is a positive.

BASE NOTE (1.54 Lingfield, nb)

The Crisfords’ all-weather specialist used his sharp turn of pace to win a hot handicap at Chelmsford last month when kicking off the front.

He then stepped up into this Listed class at Kempton where he ran another excellent race. He tanked along there before not quite getting home over the 1m4f trip. This Shamardal gelding wisely drops to a much more suitable trip and he can make his presence felt.

MISS MOONSHINE (2.54 Lingfield, treble)

Came right back to form when a close-up third here eight days ago. She may well have come out on top but her lack of a recent run told inside the final furlong.

She’s shown her best form over C&D with the handicapper being more than fair leaving her mark alone. She has dropped 5lb below her last win which gives her an obvious chance even before her jockey’s weight allowance.
