FAN favourite Kate Abdo is riding high after landing a four-year contract to stay on as one of the main CBS Sports presenters.
But there is more to the popular host than meets the eye, as the talented star – who also presents boxing coverage on DAZN – is actually multilingual.

Born on September 8, 1981, in Manchester, Kate Abdo is a sports presenter who hosts the Uefa Champions League coverage for CBS Sports.
Her presenting style has won her legions of followers since she joined the American broadcaster in 2020.
In June 2023, it was announced Kate is staying on with CBS Sports after signing an exclusive four-year contract.
Taking to social media to announce the news, she told her followers: “I’m so blessed, and so grateful.
“Four more years with a network that has been so good to me, and a show and team that I love.”
Returning to CBS’ Champions League coverage in September 2023, fans welcomed her back with open arms, with one writing: “I watch UCL football for Kate Abdo.”
Another added: “Kate Abdo twice a week, this is what life is about.”
Mancunian Kate is known for her on-air banter with her high-profile CBS colleagues like Thierry Henry, Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher.
Away from CBS, and she has also hosted the Europa League group stage draw on three different occasions, and back-to-back Ballon d’Or award ceremonies in 2014 and 2015.
Over the years the popular presenter has hosted boxing shows for Fox, Sky Sports and DAZN, and covered the 2022 World Cup for Fox.
In 2010, Kate married wealthy German businessman and investor Ramtin Abdo, but the pair are now divorced.
She is now dating former boxer and Deontay Wilder’s trainer Malik Scott, making the relationship public with a social media post.

Kate began her broadcasting career in Germany covering the Bundesliga as a production assistant and has since worked in the UK, Spain, France, and now the United States.
Because of this, she speaks fluent French, German and Spanish.
So, including English, multilingual Kate speaks an impressive FOUR languages.
Kate has previously shown off her impressive language skills on air.
During a show in November 2022, CBS Sports host and her ex-football star co-hosts were shown Champions League interviews by PSG’s Kylian Mbappe, Federico Valverde of Real Madrid, and RB Leipzig boss Marco Rose.
Kate then effortlessly translated the questions and answers from all three for the English-speaking viewers.
This earned the talented star a fist-bump from Thierry Henry, while Micah Richards said: “Wow, Kate! Three interviews, three languages!
“The first one French, second one Spanish, third German. Das ist gut, Ja!”
Meanwhile, social media was also full of praise for Kate, as one fan said: “This is a tremendous ability on top of being an ace presenter. A very good use of having languages.”
