MANCHESTER CITY have suffered another injury scare after John Stones was forced off against Belgium.
The centre-back lasted just nine minutes against the Red Devils before appearing to suffer a groin injury.
John Stones was forced off with injury after nine minutes[/caption] The defender is now a doubt for Manchester City’s clash with Arsenal on Sunday[/caption]He appeared to pick up the problem after stretching to reach the ball following a heavy touch.
He beat his marker to the ball before playing a pass to Ezri Konsa, but immediately went to feel his groin.
Moments later he was taken off for Liverpool star Joe Gomez.
And it had disastrous consequences as the defender gave the ball away in the build-up to Belgium’s opener.
The Three Lions did win the ball back but seconds later Jordan Pickford sliced his clearance to Everton team-mate Amadou Onana.
He found Youri Tielemans who had the simple task of firing into an empty corner of the net as Jordan Pickford scampered back.
Stones also started in the 1-0 defeat to Brazil and was one of England’s standout players.
He has been ever-present for the Three Lions since Gareth Southgate took charge but he has had an injury-plagued campaign.
