Lloris, 36, reported back for pre-season training at Hotspur Way last month.

But he was subsequently left out of Spurs’ tour of Australia, Thailand and Singapore in order to stay at home and find a new club.

According to French outlet RMC Sport, Lloris is keen to join Lazio due to their Champions League status.

Maurizio Sarri’s side are also eager to bring Lloris in, making a deal likely.

The former France captain has reportedly been offered to Real Madrid, following Thibaut Courtois’ devastating ACL injury.

But the Spanish giants have other targets that they would like to pursue first.

Lloris joined Tottenham from Lyon for around £12million in 2012.

He became club captain in 2015, and went on to play 447 times for Spurs.

His Tottenham debut came in a Europa League clash with Lazio, the club he may be about to join, in September 2012.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have already replaced him with Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

The Aussie boss will now have to appoint a new club captain, following Lloris and Harry Kane’s imminent exits.

Kane, who served as a vice-captain behind Lloris for many years, wore the armband for Spurs in pre-season but is now on the verge of sealing a move to Bayern Munich.

Eric Dier captained a second-string Tottenham side against Barcelona on Tuesday, while Son Heung-min skippers South Korea.
