GABBY AGBONLAHOR has ramped up the heated feud with Gary Neville claiming the ex-Manchester United captain “wasn’t very good”.
The Sky Sports presenter recently fired aim after Agbonlahor said Neville’s ex-teammate Nemanja Vidic was the most overrated defender in Premier League history.
Gabby Agbonlahor has hit back at Gary Neville’s comments about him[/caption]Agbonlahor, 37, rivalry with Neville can be traced back to the pundit’s ruthless critique of the former Aston Villa forward’s performance against Tottenham in a Premier League game in 2015.
And ever since the pair have bit back at each other with Agbonlahor’s outing of Vidic being the most recent cause of drama.
Neville played with Vidic from 2006 when the centre-half joined from Spartak Moscow, until his retirement in 2011.
Agbonlahor said he was easy to play against back in the day which did not sit right with Neville.
So in the recent Stick to Football podcast, the former Red Devils defender hit back at the ex-striker.
He said: “A guy who’s played against Man United 21 times and won once and f****** shouts his mouth off in an interview.”
Agbonlahor then took a jibe on Neville’s career claiming the 48-year-old was slow and easy to play against.
He said on talkSPORT: “It might have upset Gary Neville but I did get the winner at Old Trafford in a 1-0 win.

“He can say 21 games and won once but it’s more about your personal experience like playing against Gary Neville – I didn’t think he was very good.
“But that was the latter part of his career. Maybe when he was younger he was better but the Gary Neville I played against, it was easy.
“We targeted his side because he was slow on the ball and slow getting back in.”
After hitting back at Neville’s outburst Agbonlahor went over his assessment of Vidic.
He continued: “When I said about Vidic, that’s my opinion.
“Nemanja Vidic was a top defender but not when I played against him. There’ll be clips where Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba and I had him on a bagel.
“Certain defenders you didn’t find it tough against. I said in my opinion, I didn’t find it tough playing against him.
“He was very aggressive, so I’d spin him in behind. He wasn’t quick so I’d be able to turn him.
“You saw the penalty in the 2010 League Cup final he gave away as well.
“There’s a clip someone sent me where I spun him and he took me out and got booked.
“I found it tough against John Terry, Vincent Kompany, Rio Ferdinand and Ledley King but Vidic, I didn’t.”
Gary Neville and Gabby Agbonlahor Feud
The feud began in 2015 with Neville outing Agbonlahor’s performance against Tottenham.
Neville said: “Gabriel Agbonlahor as a centre forward… I had to check because this doesn’t look right. Eight touches in the first half… and 2 of them are kick-offs!”
In 2021 Agbonlahor praised Wayne Rooney by digging at Neville.
He said: “That’s what you want isn’t it, you don’t want like you see Gary Neville defending the manager, defending players – you want legends like Rooney for Manchester United coming out and saying that criticism.”
Then in March 2023, Neville had enough of Agbonlahor’s digs on The Overlap live episode in Dublin.
He said: “He slags me off every week on that radio show. They tag me on Twitter and it really f**** me off, honestly.”
Agbonlahor then tweeted about the time he scored the winner against United in 2009 and said about Neville: “What he was slow I was quick easy day at the office.”
He then added in an Instagram post: “Well that’s a massive nibble…Truth hurts gaaarrryyyy! Freedom of speech and all that.”
