CONOR McGREGOR has CONFIRMED his UFC return in the summer.

The Irish icon has grown publicly frustrated as talks to get his comeback signed and sealed continued to drag on.

But it appears McGregor has finally been given good news as he spoke out to reveal his return date.

He told ESPN: “We got confirmation a few days ago that it’s all systems go at the Mac, The Notorious will be returning in the UFC octagon this summer.”

McGregor, 35, has not fought since July 2021 when he broke his leg in the first round against Dustin Poirier, also 35.

But he has been lined up to face Michael Chandler, 37, after the pair coached against each other on reality TV show The Ultimate Fighter.

Chandler has been just as frustrated as McGregor of late and even went on WWE television to call out his rival.

And there were growing fears the pair would never share the octagon together amid the drawn out negotiations.

But McGregor clarified that Chandler WILL be his next opponent as he aimed a cheeky dig at the American.

He said: “Shut up, Michael, you f***ing imbecile.

“The man doesn’t shut up. I seen him on Raw. I like Mike – I’m going to bust him up. I’m going to bust Mike up.”

McGregor had brazenly announced before the new year that he would return against Chandler on June 29 at MIDDLEWEIGHT.

But UFC president Dana White was quick to shut down the claim.

June 29 is set to be the UFC’s annual International Fight Week event and the date McGregor has continued to tease as his return.

The former two-weight champion’s last two bouts have been at the 155lb lightweight limit.

But McGregor himself is in the dark at weight division he will return at despite his call to do so at middleweight.

He said: “I was having a bit of a laugh with the 185.

“I don’t know, I haven’t checked the scales since the last time I weighed in at a UFC event which was a fair bit of time ago.

“But I’ll have a chat and see where I’m at. But I got great news, it’s all systems go, thumbs up, thumbs up, got the call everything’s sweet.”
