CHRIS DOBEY has vowed to splash his Premier League winnings as Newcastle United play in the Carabao Cup final.

The darts ace is a boyhood Magpies supporter and is hoping for a perfect week.

Dobey, 34, is currently seventh in the table, only above Stephen Bunting having won two games.

His two wins came on the first night, but he was beaten in the final 6-1 by Luke Humphries.

Since then he has exited at the quarter-finals of each of the next four nights.

However, he has high hopes for Night 6 in Nottingham which comes just days before the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

The match sees Newcastle United take on Liverpool as they look to win their first trophy since 1969.

And Dobey has admitted he will spend all of his winnings on the event.

He said: “It could be one of the best weeks ever! I’ll happily spend the full £10,000 (winnings) on it.

“If I can win that on that Thursday night, I’ll be one happy person, especially going into the weekend.

“I’m definitely going to the game. I’m in with the fans this time. I did that the last time they played in a Cup final.

“I wanted to be with the atmosphere. There’s a group of us that go to home and away games and we’re all going together.

“We’ll be at Wembley’s BOXPARK before the match as well, spend a few hours there, soak in the atmosphere.

“We’ll probably be at Covent Garden or Leicester Square beforehand on the Saturday as well.

“Take in every little bit of atmosphere and get ready for the big one on the Sunday.”

Dobey could have up to £10,000 to spend if he goes all the way and wins Night 6.

The prize money for the weekly winner is worth £10k.

However, he will have to start off with a win against Rob Cross who is coming off the back of a nine-darter on Night 5.

Newcastle beat West Ham 1-0 at the London Stadium in their last match before the cup final.

Manager Eddie Howe has insisted that his side have the “quality” to get on the scoresheet.

He said: “Even if it is that kind of game against Liverpool, if we defend in the manner we did.

“We know we’ve got the quality to score.”
