AARON CHALMERS will never forget the night he fought Floyd Mayweather – and what the boxing legend told him after lives long in the memory.
Mayweather was searching for a late notice replacement opponent last February when kickboxer Liam Harrison was forced to pull out.
And Chalmers by chance happened to know a member of the American legend’s team from his Geordie Shore days.
The reality TV star went on to share eight rounds with Mayweather at the O2 Arena and still pinches himself to this day that it actually happened.
He told SunSport: “I was just talking to the lads there in the gym and they were saying, ‘F***ing hell, you fought Floyd.’
“It just doesn’t seem real. It does not seem real, I’ve got pictures, I’ve got the shorts and everything.
“I see pictures of me and him in the ring and it feels like a dream.
“After the fight it didn’t because he hit us with a body shot that left me a bit sore for a couple of days! But it was just a mad experience.
“From someone who wanted just one MMA fight six years ago to then fighting Floyd Mayweather, it’s been a crazy journey.”
Chalmers left MTV’s hit show in 2017 to debut professionally in MMA.

He then swapped the cage for the ring in 2022 and in only his second bout faced Mayweather.
But on the week of the fight, Chalmers’ son Oakley was in hospital having surgery.
He paid respect to his baby boy both before and after the fight – something father-of-four Mayweather acknowledged.
Chalmers said: “I can’t say one bad word about him. When you see him on social media and stuff, you think he’s a bit arrogant.
“But, my son was having surgery two days after the fight in Liverpool.
“And after the fight he came up and said, ‘I just want to wish your son well in surgery.’

Aaron Chalmers“So everything I was talking about in the press conference, he was obviously listening whereas I thought he wasn’t paying attention, but he obviously was.
“He came up to us and said, ‘You’re one tough motherf***er and I just want to wish your son well in his surgery.
“To me, I was like, ‘This is one of the being superstars on the planet and he was obviously listening.'”
Chalmers – who opened the door to an MMA return – has boxed twice since the exhibition with Mayweather and wants to be active this year.
He said ahead of Oktagon MMA 52 in Newcastle: “The good thing is, I’ve not got much miles on the clock.
“No severe injuries from long term, being in the gym for the last 10-15 years, so I’ve got a good few fights left in us.
“I’m fit, I’m healthy, I’m excited for this year. I think I’ve got one more year and then we’ll see where we’re at.”
