It is the latest step in what has been an eventful career for Plange.

After starring for Arsenal’s youth sides, including playing for the under-18s whilst still only 15, he completed a move to Derby in 2021.

A few months later, he was handed his senior debut by England legend Wayne Rooney aged just 19.

His performances for the Rams earned Plange a £1million move to Palace in January last year.

He has since enjoyed temporary spells with Derby and Lincoln, either side of a stint in the Belgian second tier.

Plange even earned a league winner’s medal for his two goals in 16 appearances for RWD Molenbeek.

He is now set for a new challenge in League One this season, though, after joining newly promoted Carlisle.

Although he has yet to make his Palace debut, Plange has experience playing in the third tier.

During his spell with Lincoln last season, he made 18 league appearances as the Imps finished 11th.

Plange will be hoping to open his account for his new club as early as this weekend.

Carlisle make their League One return on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Fleetwood to Brunton Park.
