Although he’ll be heavier on fight night, Sterling’s cardiovascular endurance will reap the rewards of not having to make the gruelling cut down to 135lbs.

But it’ll also be boosted by the additional cardio he performs in the bedroom – which he admits is one of his “addictions”.

‘The Funkmaster’ told SunSport: “I’m addicted to a couple of things. Sex is one of them. Me and my lady, we go at it.”

Sterling, 34, is also addicted to the cuisine of his homeland – Jamaica.

The New Yorker added: “I definitely like Jamaican food. I love me some good Jamaican food.

“And maybe drinking, I’ve got my own bottle of [rum]. Funk harbour, baby.

“But other than that, food – I like drinking, That’s a guilty pleasure of mine.

“And taking my old lady to pound town.”

When he’s not training to choke out his opponents or spending time with his fiancee Rebecca Cruz, Sterling spends his time selling houses.

Sterling was encouraged to get his real estate license by his good friend and former UFC star Al Iaquinta, who became a licensed realtor in 2014.

And the former substitute teacher became a fully qualified realtor in 2017, setting himself up for a career outside of fighting.

Sterling recently defended his real estate work in a spat with trolls on X.

He said: “I’ve been a real estate agent since 2017. And I’ve had my teaching degree since 2011.

“These are life choices, my man, to make sure I have options.

“I’d like to think I was pretty reasonable and smart with my earnings, as sporting life isn’t your typical 30-year career.”

Sterling will hope to breathe new life into his career and kick off a bid to become a two-weight world champion this weekend on the stacked UFC 300 prelims.

Aljo will be welcomed to the shark tank that is the featherweight division by veteran Calvin Kattar.
