‘Stone Cold zoomed out on a fun-sized four-wheeler in front of a packed audience at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Unfortunately, the 60-year-old then collided with a ring barrier, leading to a fan being knocked off her feet.

Austin went on to resume his duties for the night – announcing the huge attendance and thanking those who turned up for WWE’s flagship event.

Now he’s admitted he feels sheepish about his motoring mishap.

But he gave a bold explanation for his accident – and even PRAISED his ability at the wheel of such vehicles.

Stone Cold told The Ariel Helwani Show: “Long story short, just a different throttle system.

“Because I’m pretty damn handy on a four wheeler.

“I was embarrassed about it. I think everybody’s ok, but I mean, you go out there on the biggest night in wrestling, and you end up like that.

“It’s not the greatest day at the office.”

Austin did go to check on the fan involved in the incident, as did WWE president Nick Khan.

Earlier in the week, Stone Cold had been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame for the second occasion.

He picked up the new immortal Moment award this time – a joint honour with Bret Hart.

It’s for their famous Royal Rumble at WrestleMania back in 1997.

Hart won the ‘No Disqualification Submission Match’ – but only after Austin passed out following a brutal ‘Sharpshooter’ move.
