I’m fed up of these Nicky Henderson superstars – only Equinox could beat Constitution Hill

I’M getting a bit sick of bumping into these Nicky Henderson superstars.

Everywhere I turn Nicky has one of his big guns lined up and, to make matters worse, he has two of them entered in the Fighting Fifth!

Henderson has some weapons at his disposal this season and none bigger than Constitution HillPA

My only hope of GOSHEN (1.15) winning that race is Shishkin planting at the start again . . . and getting in the way of Constitution Hill.

Even then I think we could give the champion hurdler a 30-length headstart and he’d still catch up. Not that I’d scoff at second-place prize money.

The only horse who could give Constitution Hill a race right now is Japan’s Equinox but I’m sure he has his mind on something else!

Either way, I’m really looking forward to the racing at Sandown as the Tingle Creek is one of my favourite races of the season.

There is no better spectacle than seeing them flying over the Railway fences and I have plenty of fond memories thanks to Sire De Grugy, who almost won the race a record-equalling three times.

As for this year, I hope HADDEX DES OBEAUX (3.00) will do me proud.

He is usually a sound jumper and we are nowhere near the bottom of him, so I reckon he goes with a great chance of second.

I say second because, once again, pesky Nicky has thrown Jonbon in my way. He looks a shoe-in.

LE PATRON (1.50) also goes in the Henry VII, a race I won with 16-1 outsider Ar Mad a few years back.

He has a bit to find but I’ve always liked him and hope Niall can get him jumping and give the others something to think about.

The weather has caused utter chaos this week on and off the track. Old Mother Nature even washed away one of my gallops.

Plumpton has put in new drainage and even their meeting could not survive this week, so the rain must have been absolutely biblical.

Well-laid plans have gone out the window and I’m just hoping I have all my soft-ground horses fighting fit for the next few weeks.

Luckily there is no world-beater in the way of SPIRIT D’AUNOU (2.25), who can bounce back from his return run at Cheltenham.

He is much better than that and I still have high hopes for him.
