EIGHT-TIME world champion Boris Krcmar is the sport’s most feared rival – and he is not scared of facing Gary Anderson.

The giant 6ft4in Croatian ace is ready for Scot Ando in the third round of the PDC World Darts Championship. Krcmar is regarded by fellow players as the SCARIEST opponent on the stage.

And his trophy haul in soft-tip darts dwarfs anything achieved by any steel-tip stars like Anderson, Michael van Gerwen or Peter Wright.

He is the king of soft-tip with eight world titles and FORTY-FIVE European Championship wins.

Yet despite his James Bond villain appearance, Krcmar cried on stage after beating Dirk Van Duijvenbode on Friday to become the first Croat to reach the third round.

The World No.61 said: “I know if I play my game I can beat anybody. If I play well I can also lose to anybody.

“I am very happy. This is the first time I’ve won in the second round in my fifth PDC World Championship. This is the best moment of my career.

“Gary Anderson is one of the best players. I know this game will be hard. But if I play my best game and feel relaxed I can beat anybody.

“I will spend Christmas at home in Croatia with my family and come back to London to play Gary.”

Krcmar, 44, is nicknamed ‘The Biggest’ lives in Zagreb and his walk-on song is Chelsea Dagger by The Fratellis.

He beat Isle of Wight star Keegan Brown 3-1 before a victory over Dutch ace Van Duijvenbode on Friday afternoon to set-up the Anderson clash.

He added: “I was very emotional because it was the first time I win in the second round. It was also the first time my wife was watching me.

“I am always emotional because in soft-tip I win all the big tournaments, eight-time world champion, 45 times European champion.

“But in steel tip I can’t show my talent. I want to show my talent and play my best game. I want to be the best with the steel tip, this is my dream.

“I play soft-tip darts. I was winning soft-tip World Championship when Gary was winning the PDC World Championship. I wanted to play him then because he is a legend. I really respect him.

“I am a hero back home because I am the first Croatian player to win in the second round. After my first match I had over 400 messages now after the next match I have 500 messages!”
