Aspinall will take to the oche to the sound of the track at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin on Thursday.

He faces Michael van Gerwen in the quarter-finals on night two of the Premier League Darts.

Discussing his walk-on music ahead of playing in front of the German crowd, he told Planet Sport: “It’s amazing. But with the greatest of respect, I absolutely f*****g hate the song.

“I used to love it but now, everywhere I go, they put it on. But the fans love it, so long may it continue.

“I’m known in the darts world as a bit of a party animal. I’m like the Jack Grealish of darts.

“I was trying to think of a song a few years ago and I was out. It was New Year’s Eve, I just got beat in the 2019 semi-final [of the World Championship] against Michael Smith.

“I went out that night and I was trying to think of a new song. Mr. Brightside came on and everyone went mental. I was like: ‘that’s the one’.

“It’s worked wonders for me. My popularity just from that song has been massive.

“It’s so hard to be focused at the start of the game because as you saw at the World’s this year, the atmosphere when that song comes on is different to everyone else’s walk-on.”

Aspinall was beaten by Gerwyn Price in the quarter-finals on night one in Cardiff last week.

A former trainee accountant, he is making his fourth Premier League appearance and previously finished runner-up to Glen Durrant.

The Asp goes into night two off the back of reaching the semi-finals of the Masters at the weekend.

He was knocked out by eventual winner Stephen Bunting in Milton Keynes.
