VIRAL sensation Stephen Bunting has revealed the secret behind his success is hypnotherapy.

Bunting has endeared himself to darts fans both in Alexandra Palace and around the world.

The former BDO champion is hunting for his maiden PDC World Darts Championship title this year, having reached no further than the semi-finals previously.

And Bunting has been in inspired form during this years tournament, making him one of the favourites to win the competition.

The 38-year-old is yet to drop a set as he has reached the Last 16, sealing a match with the imperious Michael van Gerwen.

But what is the secret behind his success? Bunting puts it down to Hypnotherapy.

Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: “The plan’s already implemented in the back of my mind what I want to do, but I won’t give too much away.

“I’ve got some hypnotherapy lessons booked in the next hour. So basically, he’ll put me under for maybe 40 minutes, but it replicates four hours sleep and it just refocuses the brain.

“We do some visualisation stuff, so things that I want to see happen and yeah, it’s been working for me.

“I’ve been seeing the hypnotist now for probably about 12 months and yeah, it’s really a big part of my game now to be fair.”

But fans don’t just love Bunting for his ability to hit the target.

They also adore “The Bullet” for his hilarious videos on social media platform TikTok.

The Liverpudlian has racked up almost one million views on single videos and has more than 65,000 followers.

On his viral blow up, he said: “It started off as a bit of fun with my son, just doing daft stuff, and then he keeps sending me templates and saying, ‘You should do this dad, you should do this’, and it’s just kicked off.

“In every interview I do people mention it, so I must be doing something right! But it just shows a side of me that people don’t see.

“The personality side… I’m a fun guy, I’m just a normal lad and I think that was the most important thing to try and get across when I do the TikTok.”

Bunting’s clash with three-time world champion Van Gerwen get’s underway tonight at 8:45pm.
