I won two Premier League titles at Man Utd… Rasmus Hojlund must find it s*** playing alongside two team-mates

RASMUS HOJLUND “must find it s***” playing with Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho, Manchester United legend Paul Parker has claimed.

The Red Devils forward, 20, scored his eighth goal of the season on Sunday as Erik ten Hag‘s men scraped past Newport County 4-2 in the FA Cup fourth round.

But £72million man Hojlund, who has netted just twice in 16 Premier League matches, has faced criticism from the likes of Roy Keane following disappointing displays.

Yet Parker, 59, a two-time league winner with Man Utd, feels the Dane’s team-mates also have to take much of the blame for his sub-par start.

And he cited Rashford and Garnacho as two forwards that need to do better – the latter of which was on the end of a furious rant from Hojlund during the win over Newport.

Speaking to Tipsbladet, Parker said: Honestly, it must be s*** to be Rasmus Hojlund and play with those team-mates.

“No strikers want to play alongside Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho.

“I’ve seen that Roy Keane has said that Hojlund hasn’t shown enough desire to score goals, but it must also be difficult when you never get the ball.

“However, I can see where Keane is coming from because Hojlund sometimes doesn’t make the runs into the box, which is a weakness. He needs to improve on that.

“I’ve said it before, but he needs to be more selfish. He should demand to get the ball every time.”

With Anthony Martial sidelined following surgery, Hojlund remains Ten Hag’s only senior option to lead the line.

But he is not the only Man Utd forward with question marks surrounding his form.

Rashford signed a £300,000-a-week new deal in the summer to keep him at Old Trafford until 2028.

It came following a stellar campaign in which he scored 30 goals and provided 11 assists.

But he has dropped off significantly this season, netting just four times in 26 appearances.

And Keane recently slammed the England international after Ian Wright and Roberto Martinez attempted to defend him.

The Man Utd icon said: “You’re too kind, you’re too kind, I’d be fuming with him.

“Tonight, they [Man Utd] brought their habits from the Premier League in terms of missing chances, not being clinical. I want to see that side of United tonight.

“With the striker, he’s missing his chances, so we can say unlucky, oh dear.

“Create opportunities, put them in the back of the net, stop messing about.”

Rashford was not in Ten Hag’s squad on Sunday and faces disciplinary action after missing training following nights out in Belfast.
