AN ‘incredible’ Grand National gamble on two Willie Mullins runners has left bookies reeling.

William Hill report ‘significant’ sums of cash are being placed on two of the genius Irish handler’s runners in the £1million Aintree feature on Saturday.

Both Mr Incredible and Meetingofthewaters are being smashed by punters hopeful of finding the winner of the world’s most famous race.

Legendary Irish bettor and billionaire JP McManus owns Meetingofthewaters.

He bought him from ‘the shrewdest guy in racing‘ just before Cheltenham Festival.

The seven-year-old was a promising third in the Ultima, a race won last year by 2023 Grand National hero Corach Rambler.

That same horse heads the market for the National at around 4-1, but some bookies are saying he’s weak in the market as punters look elsewhere.

William Hill say they are seeing the most activity on the two Mullins runners.

And it’s Mr Incredible, the recent Midlands Grand National runner-up, who is fancied as well.

He’s into 12-1 while Meetingofthewaters is a 10-1 chance.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “While a lot of punters won’t pick their Grand National bets until they’ve had a good rummage through the racecard on Saturday, there has already been significant ante-post support for both Mr Incredible and Meetingofthewaters.

“Both trained by the master Mullins, Meetingofthewaters has shortened up into 10-1 and Mr Incredible is into 12-1 as we kick off Grand National week.

“Corach Rambler remains our 4-1 favourite, which is hard to question given his recent run in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

“But there is a very steady flow of money for some of those at slightly bigger prices.”

The going looks like having a big impact on the race, with two owners warning they could pull their runners out.

Ronnie Bartlett said Galvin and Stattler could run elsewhere while Eddie O’Leary suggested top-weight Conflated may not race either.

There has been heavy rain at Aintree over the weekend with the going on the National track currently soft, heavy in places.
