Inside Ryan Garcia’s rollercoaster week as boxer ‘drank every night’ and married porn star before amazing Haney upset

RYAN GARCIA capped off a rollercoaster week by beating Devin Haney at Barclays Center in New York.

From “drinking every night” to getting engaged to a porn star, Garcia’s path to victory was an unorthodox one.

Even prior to this week, the 25-year-old has had people concerned for his wellbeing with a series of bizarre antics.

Last month he shared an alarming video on his social media pages which suggesting he died after having his “throat slit”.

He has also referred to a series of conspiracy theories, including reposting a video claiming he was held captive at Bohemian Grove.

Garcia began fight week by announcing his engagement to porn star Savannah Bond.

In a video posted by the boxing star, Garcia could be seen down on one knee asking for the 33-year-old Australian’s hand in marriage, with the video ending as the couple kissed.

A jubilant Garcia subsequently wrote on social media: “SHE SAID YESS!!!!!! . I’M SO HAPPY AND MOTIVATED GOING INTO MY FIGHT NOW.

“LETS GOOOOOOO. LETS GO FOREEAL. SHES MY WIFE OR FUTURE WIFEY BUT STILL VERY VERY HAPPY.

“EVERYONE HAVE A GREAT DAY. SAV G.”

In addition to getting engaged, Garcia claims to have “drank every single night” in the build-up to the fight.

During the post-fight presser, he said: “I don’t give a f*** what people say about me.

“I walked through the fire, and still held it down and still beat f***ing Devin Haney, and still drank every day and still beat him — I did everything.

“What happened? False reality, right? I drank every single night, went out on the first Monday and Tuesday, and drank, drank, drank. What happened? I won.

“I’m not necessarily proud of it, but I’m just saying. It was a statement to say you guys can’t really f*** with me. I can do whatever I want.”

Garcia’s pre-fight antics saw him miss weight by 3.2lbs.

This meant that Haney’s titles were not on the line, although the previously undefeated star did still agree to do battle.

Come fight night, fans at Barclays Center in Brooklyn were left stunned as Garcia knocked Haney down three times on the way to victory.

Even being docked a point for a cheap shot couldn’t put a downer on his night.

‘I WOULD LOVE A REMATCH’

He secured a majority points win on the cards, 112-112, 114-110, 115-109.

After the bout, Haney called for a rematch, saying: “I showed that I can fight after a knockdown and getting hurt.

“I would love a rematch. I gave him a shot, it’s only right he gives me a shot back. He didn’t make weight, so I’m still the champion.

“We can run it back.”

Conor Benn, however, also wants a crack at Garcia.

He wrote on social media: “Great performance from Garcia I called it.

“Credit to @Realdevinhaney for getting up off the floor 3 times.

“I will fight any of these guys.”

Garcia subsequently responded: “Let’s run it in London at the 02.

“I will fracture your SPLEEN and then eat it

“Shoutout London.”
