ITV commentator Clive Tyldesley aimed a cruel dig at Princess Kate during the broadcaster’s FA Cup coverage.
The comment came shortly after Ellis Simms opened the goalscoring for Coventry in their match at Wolves in the quarter-final of the competition.

As replays were shown, veteran commentator Tyldesley remarked: “What you have to take into account now with the hand is, is it photoshopped?”
The quip earned a chuckle from co-commentator Ally McCoist, before Tyldesley added: “And I don’t think it is in this case.”
However, some viewers at home were not impressed, with one social media user saying: “Kate Middleton catching strays in the FA cup from Clive Tyldesley.”
ITV declined to comment when approached by SunSport.
Tyldesley’s comment was in reference to the photoshop drama Kate was involved in earlier this week.
A photo of Kate with children Charlotte, George and Louis sparked worldwide drama for a set of unfortunate editing errors.
Many people noticed that some parts of the image looked edited, which led to news agencies ordering a “kill notice” on the snap.
But the princess later released a statement regarding the snap and calming down absurd online theories.
She wrote: “Like many amateur photographers I do occasionally experiment with editing.
“I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.
“I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day.”
The Princess, 42, was subjected to heavy social media criticism which led to the apology.
She is believed to have altered it three times on a computer before it was released publicly.
Kate has spent the last few weeks recovering from abdominal surgery and facing vicious rumours over her health and relationship to Prince William.
She was last seen on public duty on Christmas Day before going to the London Clinic for surgery.
The Palace insists she is doing well and not expected back to public duty until April.
Coventry dramatically won the game 3-2 after a late comeback from going 2-1 down to book their place at Wembley.
Tyldesley is not the only person to aim a photoshop dig towards Kate this week.
The King of Netherlands, Willem-Alexander, referenced the photo when meeting a group of children in Zutphen, Netherlands earlier this week.
Tyldesley, 69, is one of the most iconic football commentators of all time.
He continues to work for ITV and also has commentary gigs with Amazon Prime Video, Rangers TV and CBS Sports in America.
The legendary broadcaster was demoted from being ITV’s lead commentator back in 2020.
Since then he has been heard covering the Champions League overseas for CBS.
Tyldesley has also worked on talkSPORT’s radio coverage of the Premier League before leaving in the summer of 2023.
