And according to 90min he is keen to leave Brentford as soon as this January.

They report that the 27-year-old is ready to take the next step in his career with interest from both Arsenal and Chelsea.

But with Brentford expected to ask for in excess of £80m for the star, it could make a winter exit unlikely.

It’s suggested that he was left “shocked” by the eye-watering price tag that has been slapped on him.

But despite his surprise there is still the possibility of Toney signing a new deal at the G-tech Community Stadium to protect his future value instead of allowing him to head into his final 12 months.

However it is said that Toney and his team would demand a release clause was inserted into any potential contract so he could still make a move away from the club.

It’s understood that if a new deal was to be signed it would lead to the former Newcastle man securing himself a pay rise.

And Toney is open to the idea of signing a new deal with Thomas Frank’s side.

Reports have suggested that Mikel Arteta’s Gunners are keen on signing the bagsman, but they would still have to wait until mid-January before he could feature.

Toney isn’t due to return to the pitch until January 17 following his ban for breaching FA betting regulations 232 times.
