JADON SANCHO failed to wrestle a penalty off team-mate Niclas Fullkrug despite “begging” his Borussia Dortmund pal for the spot-kick.

The Manchester United loanee, 23, started on Saturday afternoon for the first time since returning to the German giants.

And it ended in a positive result for Dortmund as they swatted Koln aside 4-0 to move level on points with fourth-place RB Leipzig.

However, there was an awkward moment in the second half after Sancho won a penalty when he went down in the box.

Striker Fullkrug, 30, picked up the ball as he prepared to step up from 12 yards out.

But Sancho then went over to the Germany international and attempted to take the ball from him.

According to Sky Sports reporter Patrick Berger, the English winger was shouting “Gimme the Ball, Gimme the Ball”.

It is also claimed he “begged” Fullkrug for the penalty, only to be denied.

Fullkrug dispatched the spot-kick to give Dortmund a 2-0 cushion shortly before the hour mark.

And Sancho, who was replaced eight minutes later, failed to get on the scoresheet as he was made to wait a little longer for the first goal of his second spell.

It comes after he registered an assist during a substitute appearance against Darmstadt last weekend.

He scored 50 goals and provided 65 assists in 136 games during his first spell at Dortmund.

And his bright start back in Germany was praised by Man Utd fans after he intelligently won the penalty against Koln.

One said: “What a player 😍.”

While another added: “Keep it up kid!”

And a third replied: “Where was this guy for the last two years?”

Sancho left Man Utd on loan following a public spat with Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag.

And while Dortmund are happy to have him back, there is no option-to-buy clause in his short-term deal.
