JAMIE CARRAGHER has warned Arsenal that two of their own could cost them the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners tasted defeat in the league for the first time this term when they were beaten 1-0 by Newcastle last night.

And the result now means they are three points behind league leaders Manchester City.

Arsenal reinforced their squad this summer including the addition of £105m man Declan Rice, but Carragher is still worried they don’t have title-winning quality in every position.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “I feel like I’m watching a different team [this season]. They’re more solid defensively, but they’re not as fluid.

“Have Arsenal got a centre forward and a goalkeeper who can win you the league? I don’t think they have.

“When you think of vital positions where teams win leagues, it’s in both boxes. It wasn’t a mistake as such to replace Aaron Ramsdale, as Ramsdale wasn’t going to win you the league.

“But the guy he’s chosen right now [David Raya] to come in is absolutely all over the place.

“I think bringing in Declan Rice has improved them, but they’ve not moved the dial with the goalkeeper.

“They don’t seem as fluid, and it’s not just about the players they’ve brought in. The ones who were playing out of their skin last season are not quite firing this season.”

Raya joined the North London outfit on loan this summer and has been the starting keeper for Mikel Arteta’s side since his arrival.

While an injury to Gabriel Jesus has meant the Gunners have been starting Eddie Nketiah up front in recent weeks.

Although Nketiah bagged a hattrick last weekend he has been unable to contribute for the Gunners in their two games since.

Jesus and Nketiah only scored a combined 15 goals in the league last season, less than half of what Man City‘s Erling Haaland managed by himself.
