JEFF STELLING and Chris Kamara once shared the Soccer Saturday screen together.
But the popular duo almost met their maker at the same time too.

Stelling, 68, and Kamara, 66, were the darlings of Saturday afternoon’s footy coverage thanks to their brilliant on-screen chemistry.
The pair delighted the nation with their back-and-forth banter as they brought the 3pm blackout games to life.
Both men have since departed Sky Sports.
But the close pals reunited in October to film for a new TV series called ‘World’s Most Dangerous Roads’.
The show sees celebrities pair up to take on some of the scariest paths which can hold a vehicle.
And things typically did not go according to plan for Stelling and Kamara.
The pair were jetted out to Sri Lanka to take on a route known as the ‘Devil’s Staircase’.
But they instead ended up crashing their jeep into the garden of a remote house in the middle of the jungle.
And talkSPORT breakfast host Stelling claimed the pair were “close to being fertiliser” after getting completely stuck.
They ended up “destroying half a dozen trees” in their bid for freedom.
Speaking on Stelling’s new Football’s Greatest podcast, Kamara said: “I was nearly responsible for killing Jeff Stelling! Which I must say the two days when I drove, I drove three altogether, but the last day was fine.
“The two days with a dangerous road, I was thinking the whole time please god don’t let me crash because I don’t want to be responsible for killing you, I didn’t care about myself!”
Stelling noted: “We were so close to being fertiliser in a Sri Lankan tea plantation.
“On the first day you were driving, we’re up in the jungle and I was the navigator and they’d said to me ‘there’s a very narrow path on the left, you might miss it’.
We were winched out of it, destroyed half a dozen trees
Jeff Stelling“Lo and behold we did miss it, we had to turn the car around which was no mean feat, we came back, and it’s on the right by now.
“‘There it is Kammy’. ‘There’s no path there!’ ‘There it is, there it is! Keep going Kammy’.
“Sure enough we did keep going, and where did we end up? Somebody’s garden.”
Kamara exclaimed: “Those people had never seen life before!”
Stelling continued: “It’s a house in the middle of the jungle and a little garden where our 4×4 is suddenly parked firmly, and we couldn’t get it out.”
Kamara laughed: “We had to phone for assistance to get out of there and they did so well.”
Stelling ended: “We were winched out of it, destroyed half a dozen trees.
“But the best moment of all was the local fixer who went to the family, who were watching wide-eyed, to offer some money for the damage we’d done to the garden and the trees.
“They said ‘no, no, we don’t see things like this around here every day!’”
