Jesse Lingard’s manager rages ‘he didn’t work hard’ with ex-Man Utd ace blasted after just third appearance for FC Seoul

JESSE LINGARD’S manager allegedly raged “he didn’t work hard” after the Englishman made just his third appearance for FC Seoul.

The South Korean side secured their first win of the season but the ex-Manchester United star was blasted for his performance.

Lingard again started on the bench as Seoul manager Kim Gi-dong made a few alterations to the starting XI that drew with Incheon United last week.

But the 31-year-old’s impact in the game was hardly noticeable in Seoul’s 2-0 win over Jeju and boss Gi-Dong had a few words to say about it.

After the match he was claimed to have said: “Even though he came on as a substitute, he didn’t work hard and avoided tussle.

“The name value has no meaning on the pitch. I will tell him this exactly.”

Despite securing three-point and some more game time, former England star Lingard has not had the start he hoped for since moving to South Korea.

In the outing against Jeju, in which he came on in the 57th minute, he was booked for protesting when he appeared to score from a corner before it was ruled out by officials.

After the game, Lingard was spotted taking part in a Seoul tradition that looks very similar to Liverpool’s post-match routine.

The ex-England star was seen standing in front of his side’s fans as the supporters chanted the star’s name as he proceeded to perform three fist pumps towards them.

The fist pump celebration is now seen at clubs across England – but the post-win routine is synonymous with Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp.

The midfielder is yet to start for the K League side and has failed to score a legitimate goal in Seoul’s first three games of the term.

But the Englishman has still prompted huge excitement among the South Korean side’s fanbase.

On his debut game a “Lingard Zone” was set up outside the ground for fans to buy the former England star’s FC Seoul merchandise.

More than two hours before the game a huge queue could be seen outside the stall as Seoul set up an entirely separate shop for Lingard merch, such was the expected demand.
