However, things are yet to work out for Lingard on the pitch as he is still waiting for his first start and goal amid criticism from his manager.

Away from football, the former Manchester United hero has seen his social media take a surprise hit.

According to KingCasinoBonus and SocialBlade, as reported by Sportbible, his Instagram account lost 36,000 followers in between March 2 and April 2.

This comes after a 59,191 increase in his first month after signing for FC Seoul.

He still has a staggering 9.4million followers on Instagram.

Lingard has played three games for the club so far with all appearances coming from the subs bench.

A “Lingard zone” was created outside the stadium with fans queuing for hours to buy merchandise ahead of his debut in front of a record attendance.

Only for him then to be seemingly booed by some supporters.

The ex-West Ham and Nottingham Forest man has since been booked twice and missed the last two games with injury.

On his performances, gaffer Kim Gi-dong said: “I’ve been thinking a lot about removing Jesse.

“I don’t think a player who doesn’t run for a few minutes is a football player. If he isn’t fit and doesn’t run better than the player who runs for 90 minutes?”

He added: “He only played a few minutes, yet he didn’t work hard and avoided tussle.

“Fame doesn’t win football games. If it did, I would have brought in a famous retired player.

“As we have not spent a long time together yet, I don’t think he showed the performance from his glory days.”
