JOE ROGAN can’t wait for UFC 300 to roll around, although he HATES one of the fights the promotion has booked for the card.

Mixed martial arts’ top promotion hosts its historic 300th pay-per-view event in Las Vegas on April 13.

Nine fights are currently official for the Sin City extravaganza, which is expected to feature at least THREE title bouts.

The biggest bout announced by UFC president and CEO Dana White is the eagerly-anticipated BMF bout between fan favourite Justin Gaethje and former featherweight champion Max Holloway.

Rogan, like many MMA fans around the world, was blown away by the booking of the fight and is relishing the stylistic match-up.

The long-time UFC commentator, however, doesn’t like it due to Holloway’s previous ill-fated foray up to lightweight against Dustin Poirier in April 2019.

“You know what I hate [about the fight],” he said during a recent episode of his Joe Rogan Experience podcast. “Max is a great 45-pounder, Dustin Poirier beat him up at 55lbs.

“I think those guys are a little bit too big for him.”

Rogan also dislikes the match-up for Holloway’s bid to reclaim the featherweight title, which champion Alexander Volkanovski will defend against Ilia Topuria at UFC 298 next month.

The 57-year-old added: “Also, Max is right there in the hunt for the title.

“[When] Volkanovski gets done with Topuria, Max is a likely next fight. It’s 100 per cent there.”

The notion of Holloway still being in line for a title shot if he loses to Gaethje is one Rogan agrees with, although he believes it’d somewhat halt his momentum.”

“Yeah, sort of,” Rogan said when it was put to him that the ‘Blessed’ could still take the fight. “But you sort of lose some of your lustre.”

The co-main and main events for UFC 300 are currently still a mystery, with the brass keeping a tight lid on the match-ups potentially in play for the card.

UFC bigwig White is constantly being bombarded with requests to announce the main event, which he recently claimed fans can’t “handle”.

He said early on Thursday morning, he said: “I had an announcement for 300 yesterday.

“You’ll get the main event when I’m ready to give you the main event. I’ve been squeezing them out one by one.”

The veteran promoter, 54, added: “When I’m ready to give you the main event, you’ll get the main event.

“You’re not ready yet. You can’t handle the main event.”

He continued: “We have a couple of options for the main event.

“We’re still playing with it, still playing with it.

“When it’s time, I will give it to you. 300 is gonna be the sickest card from top to bottom.

“The first fight of the night you guys are gonna go, ‘What the f**k?’

“You cannot not be watching ESPN the first fight of the night for 300.”
