JORDAN HENDERSON has been allegedly offered to one of Europe’s biggest clubs as he looks to end his Saudi Arabia misery.
The 33-year-old midfielder wants to return to the Premier League just six months after his move to the Middle East – despite the prospect of being slapped with a £3m tax bill.
Jordan Henderson is believed to be desperate to quit Al-Ettifaq just months after signing[/caption]The Sunderland-born England international caused controversy when he left Liverpool to sign a three-year deal with Al-Ettifaq in the summer on an alleged £700,000-a-week contract.
However, he will only receive that if he honours the first two years of his deal playing for ex-Anfield team-mate Steven Gerrard.
However, SunSport revealed on Saturday that Henderson has told his old colleagues at Liverpool that he has made a huge mistake heading to Saudi.
Gerrard made him captain at Al-Ettifaq but he has yet to score in 19 appearances for the club while Stevie G is under mounting pressure after they dropped to eighth in the Saudi Pro League after a torrid run of one win in 13 games.
We revealed that a return to England could be on the cards for Henderson, while Celtic and an unnamed German club were also understood to be interested in a move.
Now talkSPORT have revealed the identity of that mystery team from the Bundesliga – and it is none other than the reigning champions Bayern Munich.
They claim that Henderson has been offered to both Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen as he looks to seal an exit from Saudi.
But they state that Al-Ettifaq are insisting that he is not for sale while any loan deal “would be difficult for most clubs due to his high wages”.
